Blocking phone numbers on your mobile device

Blocking phone numbers from your device is pretty straight forward. We will show you the ways in which to block those unwanted numbers from the most widely used and most popular handsets.

Mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives for keeping in touch with our loved ones. We no longer rely on that letter once a year or run in the pouring rain to the nearest phone box. We have become so used to using our mobiles that the percentage of those with landlines in their homes has dropped from 81% in 2014 to 76% in 2017. We expect that number to continue to fall in the coming years. Admit it, we love our mobile phones!

unwanted sales and marketing calls blocking phone numbers

But there’s one thing that bugs the life out of us all, unwanted calls. Whether it’s from an ex that just can’t take the hint, those pesky scammers or that nuisance call Bart Simpson makes nightly, eventually you will have had enough. This is the time to pull out the big guns and get blocking. Don’t be shy, those you block will never know.

Sign up for no marketing or sales calls

The first thing to do is to register with the telephone preference service, they will add you to their list of numbers that don’t want to receive sales and marketing calls within the UK. It is free to register and illegal for any marketing and sales company to call you if you have your phone number registered. The threat of this is usually enough to deter companies from calling you. If you are ever asked to pay to register, don’t! This is a scam.

To register online all you need to do is enter your name, phone number, address and email.

You can also call them to register on 0345 070 0707 and send the text ‘TPS’ to 85095.
